Now, I've not been for 6-years so my advice should be treated with caution. However, when I'm there in August I'm hoping that Papillon is still doing a nice leg of lamb. It is on the main road, roughly opposite the Thomas Cook office and next to the Tanit apartments. They also did some nice rices.

Sorry, I meant Tekin Apartments - the Tanit is in Benidorm Old Town, which is quite a long way to go for a leg of lamb if you're in Marmaris.

Think you need to order this the day before, I would think the Kervan Ocakbasi would be good for this..

Hi all,

Many restaurants will serve "tendir" or slow cooked lamb leg.

However, these days for cost effectiveness it is usually a lamb shank rather than the full leg.

Try Demir's, Samdans, Kervan Okacbasi, GCSH or any of the slightly more up-market restaurants.

I would imagine that many on the harbour will have it!

It is not always necessary to pre-order as it is such a popular dish that many will have it pre-cooked and will just warm it up when needed.

See here for recipe. turkishcookbook.com/2005/10/lamb-tandir.php
