I know airport prices are generally a lot more than standard prices but I just read in another post that a McDonalds Happy Meal costs about £12!!
Is it really this expensive?
If so, has anyone had any luck taking pre-made sandwiches past passport control in their hand luggage?
Dalaman Airport is one of the most expensive Airports in the world.
I take sandwiches through security and have never been stopped.

We're taking cheeses/salami etc over with us so we'll save some and make sandwiches to bring back.
You know about our situation and the cock-up with Monarch and accommodation changes from previous posts and they offered us a 'gesture' of either free in-flight meals or extra baggage...I chose extra baggage but wishing I'd chose free meals now lol!
You will not believe the prices they take advantage big time.
You'd expect expensive airports in expensive cities...not Turkey lol!

Last year on leaving turkey we were caught in this
airport trap. Cheapest adult meal was over 30 tl. Cash machines in airport would only pay out in Tl .to us travelling with kids it seemed like they wanted to squeeze us to the bone
Will definitely be making and taking sandwiches now!

42 reviews Guy in Rikkies chippy just round the corner from Cousins/Apex restaurant makes our sandwiches for us, really nice and saves the hassle of doing it yourself, last time I got chicken and stuffing, lovely, used the chippy a few times also for a change and the food was all nice..
