Hi Leo,

We have been going to Turkey for the best part of 30 years and to Marmaris since 2009.

We have seen very few cockroaches and even fewer crickets.

Yes you might hear the odd cricket but you get that in most warm countries.

Cockroaches also are everywhere in the world and I have seen more in London restaurants than in Turkey.

If you do see one just tell the reception and they will get rid of it for you.

However I don't think you will have a problem. We never have.

Hi-we just got back this morning...

We heard crickets but our hotel was opposite a small park and that's where we could hear them

We only saw one cockroach throughout our stay and that was on Friday night...something flew into my arm on the balcony and when I looked up it was a cockroach (thought it was a moth)...we just scuttled inside and it was gone the next day

Hi!

Not to worry about these things! You will possibly see grasshoppers

and beetles at the moment. Also cicadas as mentioned earlier. They belong to a Mediterranean summer like rain worms and flies to a wet European day. And keep in mind that a bug is not immediately a cockroach! İ have never seen here since İ live here!

I've never seen a cockroach or anything resembling a cockroach in all the times I've visited Marmaris. And believe me I look for them as I'm terrified of them! Don't worry at all.
