Connecting thru EBB, do I need a transit visa?

We are arriving on BA from LHR and have a few hour lay over prior to our flight on Coastal Aviation to JRO. Do we have to get a transit visa when we arrive or can we just hang out in the terminal and board our next flight. We will only have carry-on luggage, nothing checked. Thanks in advance if any body knows.

Thanks for the reply, very helpful. Wondering if you might be able to answer a few follow up questions:

- Am I correct in thinking I will only need a "transit visa" which I've read is $20?

- Is Coastal easy to find at the airport and I assume all flights (even smaller "regional" flights) are from same terminal?

- How far is Departures terminal from Arrivals?

I'm using Coastal simply because that is who our safari company is using. Thanks again.

I am also wondering at the logistics of this. OK you may have 'status' with BA but why EBB and not NBO?

That apart and whilst this is guesswork on my part as I have never transited in Africa.

I do know the layout of EBB a little and what I would do if faced with this would be enter Immigration Hall but instead of filling in landing Cards etc., and Qing at the normal Booth I would break right and head for the VIP/Fast Track booth. There I would explain the 'problem' that you don't need to enter Uganda but merely seek the check in for Coastal. In my experience the Ugandans are extremely helpful to visitors and it is likely, but not guaranteed, that they will examine your Passport and the onward ticket, and detail somebody to escort you to where you want to be. Fingers crossed that works.

You should not need a Transit Visa, there is only the one terminal and the Arrivals and Departures is all in the same building. With your plane behind you, Departures should be on your right.

Yes there is definitely a Transit route, you do not go through Immigration.
