How Much Time

Looking at traveling to Hoi An in early May and was just wondering how long to spend there. Have to split 16 days between Ho Chi Minh, Hoi An and maybe Hue and Hanoi. Like all advice on what travellers have experienced.

2 days in HCMC, 2 in Huê, 4 in Hoi An, 4 in Ha Noi. Add Ha Long bay 2 nights and 2 nights in Sa Pa. It depends entirely on your preferences (beach, resort, beautiful landscapes, culture, food).

Hi Guide

In May is Summer, Weather is good for beach. So should spend some day in beautiful, clean beach in Vietnam: NhaTrang.

It would be: 3 days in HCMC, 1 day in Huê, 3 days in Hoi An, 2 days in NhaTrang, 2 days in Ha Noi, 2 days Halong bay 3 days in Sapa.

Happy time!

I agree with the above poster who recommended 4 nights for HoiAn. That is what we did and we weren't even there during beach weather - and we had a fabulous time!! We loved Hoi An! In addition to the obligatory having clothes made we also had an amazing street food tour with Neville of TasteOfHoiAn, a great cooking class with Van of Green Bamboo and a wonderful bicycle tour with Heaven And Earth Bicycle Tours.

I think 3 nights is enough.

It's a gorgeous quant old town.

3 nights would be the least amount of time to spend in Hoi An, it's a small town that you can visit in a day but it's very quaint and a good place to relax.
