Nohi Bus station in Kanazawa

We will be leaving Kanazawa via a Nohi bus to S-go.

There appears to be 2 bus stations at Kanazawa Train station. Do the Nohi buses leave from the east or the west side?

And I presume their reservation centre is nearby to that?

Oh...and are destinations of the buses marked in English?

Thanks in advance.

The Nohi Bus leaves from the east side bus depot #2. If you go to Google Maps and look for Kanazawa station, at the maximum zoom level, you will see a cluster of bus stops in a horseshoe layout just east of the station. That's where the depots are.

This service is jointly operated with Hokutetsu so you will buy the bus ticket from their office which is just north of bus depot #2. It is in the same vicinity as the bus depots so you can't really miss it. Here's what the ticket office looks like:

The buses should have English along with Japanese clearly marked on the bus. You can always ask the bus driver by simply saying "Shirakawa-go?"

Nohi Bus line has a telephone number on their website for making reservations, which are required on some of the Kanazawa-Shirakawa-Takayama buses. Does anyone know if there would be someone who spoke English in the office if I called?

I suggest speaking in very basic, slow, and clear English.

1. "Reservation, please. I speak only English. OK?"

2. If OK, "From Kanazawa to Shirakawa, please. Departure from Takayama at [XX:XX (time)], please. One person"

3. "My name is [XX:XX]."

4. If OK, thank you and that's all.

You might be able to get a hotel staff person to help you make a reservation prior to taking the bus.
