Hokkaido in early August - sunflowers field

Hi,

I would be traveling to hokkaido in early August and will be stopping by at furano/ biel for 2 days.

If i wish to see sunflowers, is it necessary to travel to hokuryu to cover the sunflower fields or can it be done in furano?

There is a sunflower field in Shikisai-no-Oka (Biei) but nowhere near as spectacular as those in Himawari no Sato (Hokuryu).

Also take note: spring was cold and grey in Hokkaido this year. Everything flowered about 2 weeks late (no flowers in Furano at the moment)...nature might catch up by August, but there may still be "delays" this year in expected flowering seasons.
