Dress in Kimono (geisha)

I want to find a reputable place where I can dress in traditional Kimono (geisha) outfits. I've heard there are many in kyoto, any suggestions?

(kyoto,tokyo,nara)

Thanks!

Squirrelnibbler -

Do you mean get dressed up geisha-style in full kimono, wig & makeup and have your picture taken?

I remember seeing places where that was done in Kyoto, but unfortunately I don't remember any details for you. Perhaps one of the local experts knows....

Hi,

I know of one place in Tokyo in Harajuku and is very good. The whole thing takes a bit longer than they say on the website and I would advise making sure you eat and have gone to the toilet before they put the whole kimino on your coz its quiet heavily layered.

They also let you bring your own camera to take photos and will photograph you in a Japanese style garden if you wish.

Its a great experience and I recommend it.
