timings of JR and Metro trains

Hi, I wanted to know what is teh timings of JR and Local Metro/Subway trains. Do they ply 24 hrs with reduced frequency at night or totally suspend their services? if yes, when do they restart in morning?

Trains stop at late night except new years day.

JR Yamanote line Tokyo station case,

first train runs 04:45, Last train is 25:03.

www.hyperdia.com and click on English. You can check all metro and train schedules. Last Yamanote train is around 1AM. All others midnight or earlier.

Shibuya Station Yamanote Line outer loop (Shinjuku, Ikebukuro bound) weekday timetable:


崎 = Osakai

池 = Ikebukuro

品 = Shinagawa
