Please advice transport mode 5 days in Tokyo

Hi. Can you please advice me if I have to buy JR pass ? I will be doing only 1 day trip to Hakone and the rest of the time will be spent roaming Tokyo? Or will Suica/ Pasmo card ok for me and for the Hakone trip, I take the Odawara Romance car. Your help will be deeply appreciated. And where can I book the Odawara tickets in internet so I will get to ride in the nicer trains ? - from Miss Confused.

Within Tokyo, you do not need a JR pass. Suica/Pasmo will work fine for you. If you are flying in to Narita, this is a good deal - http://www.jreast.co.jp/e/suica-nex/

If you go to Hakone, consider the Hakone Free Pass. As long as you are not going during a holiday or weekend, you should be able to get a seat on the Romance Car. Note that with the pass, you still need to pay a 870 Yen surcharge for the Romance Car one way. I suggest you pay for the surcharge to ride it in the morning on a nice day. When you come back in the evening, there is no need to pay the surcharge since there is nothing to see outside when it's dark.
