Are there any recommended hop on/off tour buses in Tokyo? Do any of them run through Ikeburo/Shinjuku?
While I am not arguing against taking buses, I think it would be more straightforward and without much waiting time to take trains.
Tokyo Station (for Edo Castle ruins/East Gardens of the Imperial Palace, Bridgestone Museum of Arts) to Akihabara (Electric, manga and anime town) : JR Yamanote or Keihin-Tohoku Line.
Akihabara - TX Asakusa (for Kappabashi kitchen street, Nakamise Market and Sensoji Temple) : TX (Tsukuba Express) Line.
Tobu or Toei Asakusa - Oshiage / Tokyo Skytree : Tobu Railway or Toei Metro Asakusa Line.
Thanks, but a hop on/off tour bus shows you around as they travel .... do you have recommendations for such busses? thanks
Tokyo doesn't have much to show from buses (it's a city completely destroyed by WW2), and no buses cover all the main areas. Trains hopping on and hopping off might tell a lot more about Tokyo and Japan in general.
Hato Bus is a reliable operator of bus tours in Tokyo. Perhaps they might be of some interest to you.
Okay, here is another one, enjoy!
