Hyperdia/JR pass query

I've been trying to plan my trip for around early/mid April and looking at getting the JR pass, however I'm getting a tad confused - I've been reading on most forums that a one way pass between Yokyo/Kyoto is about 13,000 Yen, but when I do a quick search on Hyperdia, the costs are around the 7000-800 Yen range one way?

Am I reading this right?

Any help would be appreciated as I am super confused..

"Seat fee" is actually "LTD Express surcharge" that is not avoidable when riding Shinkansen.

why r you going mid late april? travel just a week or two earlier and you catch the cherry blossom season in its entirety, yr current schedule you may catch the last of it or all of sakura ( blossom) if the season starts late

me, im off mid march to 1st week of april, good luck to both of us!
