what is best option for ticketing

my last part of trip is landed at Haneda airport at 12:15pm on 9-Sept-14. Then, goto Park Hotel Tokyo. (possible airport shuttle?), and walk to Ginza. Next day 10-Sept, go to Hakone (stay at The prince hakone). The hotel told me there are free shuttle bus running between hotel to Odawara station (4 times a day between 11:30~16:10). on 11-Sept, will be back to Park Hotel Tokyo to stay till 14-Sept for 15-Sept (airport shuttle to NRT airport) night flight back to Sydney. Possible to take a day trip to Nikko on 12-Sept (there is no day service on Saturday). Some friends told me to use Odakyu Railway Hakone 2 day pass that is better. Not sure Odakyu Hakone 2 days pass including the travel from Tokyo to Odawara or not. In Tokyo, possible to just pay for the ride on 13~15 Sept since we will only go to a few places and park hotel tokyo is good location. Any suggestion are welcome and appreciated

Hakone Freepass includes transport fare from Hakone Yumoto and Odawara to Odakyu Shinjuku, but does not include the Ltd Exp Romance Car surcharge. If you are not using the JR Pass, and intend to go to Owakudani hell valley for Mt Fuji view (on a clear day) and Togendai by lake Ashi in Hakone area, then it's a fair choice.

Your question is a bit difficult to read for everyone to understand. You might write in the following way:

09 SEP. Land at Haneda at 12:15pm. Stay at Park Hotel Tokyo in Shiodome (Limousine Bus from Haneda Airport to Shiodome area hotels or Tokyo Monorail to Hamamatsucho then taxi). Strolls around Ginza.

10 SEP. Go to Odawara by Tokaido (conventional) Mainline train from Shinbashi or Shinkansen from Shinagawa (stay at The Prince Hakone by Lake Ashi) Use the shuttle bus, no need for Hakone Free Pass in your case.

11 SEP. After a morning in Hakone, return by hotel shuttle service and Tokaido Mainline or Shinkansen train to Tokyo. Stay at Park Hotel Tokyo.

12 SEP. Tokyo visits

13 SEP. Tokyo visits

14 SEP. Airport shuttle to NRT airport or JR N'EX from Tokyo Station.

From Shinjuku to Odawara by Odakyu Ltd. Exp., fare of 880 yen is covered by 2day pass but seat fee of 890 yen is not covered by the pass. www.odakyu.jp/english/deels/freepass/hakone/

Thanks for your info, specially Yobeekool to list my request in easy reading format. How much is the fare for Hikari or Kodama usig Tokaido train from Shinagawa to Odawara? Just like to compare with Odakyu 2day pass (it costs extra 890 to go from Shinjuku to Odakyu, am I right?)

Tokyo to Odawara is 3,740 yen 35 min by Tokaido Shinkansen; 1,490 yen 90 min on JR Tokaido (conventional track) mainline train. Odakyu Romance Car takes about 80 minutes to Shinjuku but from Shinjuku to Shimbashi for Shiodome it should take about 30-40 min. It's 890 yen for the Ltd exp charge of Romance Car (normal fare 880 yen).

You can find both timetable and cost information using Hyperdia. Once you have entered your search parameters and got to the results page, click on "Interval timetable" under a particular train. A new window will pop-up to show all trains running that route for the day.

Hakone Free Pass without Tokyo transfers is much more economical that taking Shinkansen. On the other hand, as you are based near Ginza, it makes more sense to take JR Tokaido Line from nearby Shimbashi station (1,490 Yen, 70-80 minutes) rather than traveling to Shinjuku to buy Hakone Free Pass with Tokyo roundtrip transfers. Once you get to Odawara, buy the Hakone Free Pass for the Hakone Loop without the Tokyo transfers.
