apartment swap?

Hoping someone on this board can help point me in the right direction -- I'm a veteran homeswapper and member of homelink.org and am hoping to find a swap for my trip to Tokyo in December. I've have had great success swapping my NYC apartment for past trips to Paris, Berlin, Barcelona, Mexico City, etc. but there are very few listings for Japan. Any thoughts on message boards to locate people in Tokyo who might be interested in homeswap?

Homeswap is very uncommon in Japan, unfortunately. The Japanese can be quite sensitive about preserving one's own private territory. I hope you find lucky, though.

Interesting, first time hearing such a thing. It's surely a Western thingy. Apart from Thailand, I don't see anywhere else in Asia.

I doubt anyone's willing to swap their 6,000 square feet in New Zealand for our 600 square feet apartment in HK or Japan eventhough our 600 sq feet apartment is worth twice as much as your 6,000 square feet house. :D

Looking further, the guy offering his Hong Kong house:

homelink.org/japan/…

....probably don't care about "saving money" since he can easily afford a penthouse suite at the Burj Al Arab. LOL! No need to swap houses.
