Taxi capacity

Hi does anyone know the maximum capacity of taxis in Tokyo? There will be 4 of us adults and 1 infant before age 2 and a child age 3. Do we need to get seperate taxis? Come to think of it, even if it can accomodate all, it probably can't take us since we have 2 big luggages and 2 strollers.

How much will a taxi cost if we abandon a 10 minute walk and take the taxi instead?

660 yen flag fall, good for up to 2 km (1.2 miles), 80 for each 274m ( ~300 yards) or 100 seconds of waiting or crawling in traffic jam, 30% surcharge between 11pm and 5 am

Standard taxi seats 4 adults. There are a few "minivan" taxies

The luggage is also a problem. Most taxis have very little room in the boot because they run on natural gas rather than petrol, and these tanks occupy much of the boot.

If it's only a ten-minute walk, can some of the adults walk and meet up with the children/taxi-riding group at the destination? Quite frankly, for that short a walk you may get there more quickly on foot than those riding in traffic!

But um....where are you going with the luggage? If this is an airport run, a taxi is not your best bet anyway.

Thanks for the information. I need to get to a hotel that has the Limo bus to Narita airport. We have no problem with 10 to 15 min walk but I was just concerned about lugging strollers and bags etc on top of having two small tots and thought that getting a taxi can solve the problem.
