Are Singapore dollars or US dollars accepted in JB or do I need to purchase ringits to use in Malaysia, I am visiting on a day trip from Singapore

Hi

Better to have Malaysia Riggit. At Malaysia, you can also changed money but have to be careful when changing as there will be beggars and snatch thief around.

Some shopping centres (bigger ones) may accept Singapore and/or US dollars.

You'll get a better exchange rate from a money changer than at the store (if they do accept SGD).

Correct, just exchange at the money changer to get better rate. Most shopping centres having money changers and you can exchange your foreign currency there.

Just remember to use all your Malaysian ringgit coins as you could not exchange them anymore in Singapore.
