Where to go?????

My husband and I have been in Hong Kong on an assignment for the last year but have been called back home unexpectedly. Since we thought we were going to be here for several years, we haven't done much traveling yet, and now have to choose one place to go among the many fabulous locations for a week beach holiday. I am having such a hard time deciding! My husband really needs a low key, relaxing vacation on the beach/poolside so we really want the most luxurious and beautiful setting. But I would also like to see at least some wildlife/nature. We're thinkning about Bali or maybe Langkawi but then there's also Kota Kinabalu and Ko Samui....where to go? Any advice for someone who may never get the chance to come back.....Thanks!

Can you get a direct flight from HK to these places? Will you need to travel via Bangkok or KL? If you do, and if you do want to break your journey in one of these capitals, then I would suggest that the spectacular palaces and temples in Bangkok should sway your decision. I appreciate that this would not be relaxing, but IF you need to pass through one of these capitals then you might as well spend 2 nights in Bangkok and then maybe choose Koh Samui
