Langkawi during Ramadan

Dear All,

I plan to visit Langkawi in the second week of July with my wife for 5 days. The period incidently marks the beginning of Ramadan. I plan to stay in Kuah area (Hotel Bayview).

Can you please suggest me how the area would be to stay, specifically during Ramadan?

Do we get good number of options to eat/ drink outside during the period?

Or should we better opt in for non main-land resort like Rebak?

Your help in this regard shall be highly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks & Regards

Hi

Staying during Ramadan you will have no problems at all. Most of the Chinese owned restaurants will be open during this period - there will be lots of choices for food and drink.

Namaste, dear Prateek,

most places indeed do business as usual.

There are some quite attractive food markets that are open only during Ramadan as during this time, life is all about eating.

But I notice that you intend to stay at Kuah. Why? It is rather boring and there are no beaches. Bayview to me is more of a business hotel. If staying in Kuah I would opt for Bellavista. But the other side of the ilsand is far more attractive.

Dear Eva,

Namaste!

Thanks so much for your kind advice.

If not Kuah, can you suggest me a good clean hotel in the other side of the town?

My budget is close to 200MYR per night.

The two most important things I am looking for in my hotel is (1) clean, well maintained hotel with good bathroom (2) In-house restaurant serving good breakfast.

Thanks once again for all your help, Eva. Really appreciate.

Thanks & Regards

Thanks so much for your inputs, Leopang.

Why do you recommend so?

I am looking for a relaxing holiday at Langkawi without much of running around here and there.

We will be spending 2 nights at KL before Langkawi.

Thanks & Regards

Hi

Why not stay in Pantai Cenang or Pantai Tengah? That way you will be in the main tourist area of the island and close to lots of restaurants and shops.

Try looking at such places as Malibest, AB Motel, Sunset Beach, Fave or White Lodge.

Hi

I have had a look at La Pari Pari and it is a lovely little place. It is not beach side but there is a small pool and an excellent restaurant there - FatCUPID.

The chalets are very nice inside and very, very clean. Go for it.
