Dress Restrictions

Are there any dress restrictions for the Holiday Villa Beach resort, around the pool or for dining out at the resort?

If you dressed as you would going to a resort in Australia, you will be fine (ie for dining in - no barefeet but thongs ok, men should no go shirtless). Around the pool, bathers are ok, but women should be going topless, this is the same on all the beaches as well.

Make sure you try the little restaurant, I think it's called 'Maya' or similar, on the opposite side of the road a couple of hundred metres up.

All the best,

I treated that as a given oddly enough...

i think common sense and good manners are all you really need. keep beach clothes for the beach/pool area, gentlemen to wear tops in the street or shops, bars, restaurants etc., no wet swimwear on upholtstered furniture, and ladies take a sarong or kaftan to slip on while walking around.

although it is easy to forget, langkawi is predominently muslim; you will see local people swimming fully clothed at the beaches. however, providing you are decently covered by your standards [that is, not topless] then you are unlikely to cause comment.
