Railroad from Fraser Hill to Ipoh, then bus to Pangkor

Hello. Just checking the accuracy of the route provided by Google Maps. The below info are represented as a regular route (occurring 4 times every morning starting from 7-something am.) This info applies to December 8, when we plan to travel from Fraser Hill straight to Pangkor.

We will enter Fraser Hill through Kuala Kubu Bharu and leave through it. This town itself is located on the railroad of the Komuter train that runs through KL. However, the Komuter's share of the railroad ends soon after leaving Kuala Kubu Bharu to the North and we're then to switch to a train that Google Maps addresses as "ETS-GD."

Does this train function like the Komuter or on a seat basis? And in that case, would we be at risk for not booking in advance? And how to book in advance?

Finally, Google Maps also designates bus number 46 as a regular transport from Ipoh to Sitiawan (the coastal town adjacent to Pangkor). Any notes regarding this one?

Thanks in advance.

The Komuter line ends at Tanjung Malim, 1 station up from KKB. The ETS trains are long-distance trains with assigned seating. There are 10+ trains a day from Tanjung Malim to Ipoh, some of which you can book online while some are only available on the day of departure. There are also two ETS Silver trains that stop at KKB.

For Pangkor you should go to Lumut, the next town over from Sitiawan. I'm not sure about the local bus, but there are express buses to Lumut from Ipoh Amanjaya bus terminal. From the Ipoh train station you can use bus/taxi to get to the bus terminal.

You can search/book bus and train tickets on http://www.easybook.com
