Penang to Phuket by Boat

Anybody got any tips on how to go about doing this trip either by ferry or by yacht? We're coming that way in July and could do it either up or down if it's feasible.

Thanks in advance

Hi Arne -

Only one that makes that trip is via Star Cruises Libra:

Personally, I will rather fly it.

Yes you can do it by ferry.

Tigerlines does this from Langakwi to Phuket viaTrang, Lanta and Phi Phi. http://www.tigerlinetravel.com/ Not sure if they run all year round . . . as July is the green season when the seas can be a be rougher so some ferries don't always run.

You would use Langakwi ferries to get from Penang to Langakwi. www.langkawi-ferry.com/Home/Schedule.aspx

However, if you make a sea or land boarder crossing you will only get a 15 day permit to stay. A air boarder crossing will get a 30mins.

So flying might be the easier and quickest option and give you a 30 day permit to stay.

have fun!
