Has anyone used...

Groupons in Penang. As I noticed some good Xmas deals on it and was wondering if anyone had purchased from them and been successful even though you may live in another country I.e Australia

Thanks for any info :D

G'day Jacks,

We went crazy on our last visit in July. Tried many different groupon vouchers including food, drinks, cosmetics from the Body Shop and massages. No problems at all. Just read the fine print and all should be OK. The best was an all you can drink Tiger or Guinness in 4 hours, unfortunately I haven't seen it repeated.

Thanks vinerlies -considering one of the Xmas buffets looks awesome :D but just trying to find out what the rainbow sandy beach resort offers first - was able to contact by phone the other day but time difference meant no one could help and now had problems connecting :)

So it may be the groupon deal for us

The main thing to check in the fine print is to make sure they are available to those who are not residents. Other than that, keep in mind booking requirements and periods. Once those are overcome, go for it!

Forgot to mention...

Have you discovered this site yet: http://deals.bigsale.com.my/

It's a site that lists deals from multiple other sites all in one place.

Thanks Lise I will have a look at that site.

I actually have had issues in Australia with a company via a similar site to groupon - it took 8 wks to get my money back which was fortunate. So a little wary about these sort of deals but the Malaysian groupons have some great deals :D

I was wary of such sites, but after friends reported good results, I've decided to give them a go (in Australia - can't yet buy for our next trip as it's not til April)...

It's kind of exciting, though, when you find the International sites ;-)

I reckon - was just looking at the one you provided - it's pretty good :D

Funny I was only looking at your list of food etc costs yesterday - its one of my favourite posts you have done for KL and Penang ;)
