Need recommendation for breakfast & dinner preferably walking distance from Traders. Good local food. Not opting for food in the hotel.

Suria Mall is a short walk or you can use the hotel shuttle. A lot of Cafes and restaurants and some food courts. Or walk via the Air conditioned walkway to Pavilion shopping mall ( about 10 -15 minutes) with a great food court in the basement and several restaurants. A bit further beyond Pavilion is Bukit Bintang where there are a lot of cafes and restaurants.

FYI the breakfast buffet at Traders in amazing with a huge variety of food.

I will get you started with breakfast if you like Indian. Turn right when leaving Traders, cross road at lights and head towards Gamma. On the corner opposite Gamma are three Indian cafe's offering the usual Roties and curries.

There are lots of options.

1) Turn right from Traders. 2 mins walk is the next traffic light intersection( Jalan Gurdwara, Jalan Macalister, Jalan Penang, Jalan Dato Keramat) . On the Jalan Gurdwara, 2 min walk , you will reach Lebuh Noordin and at the corner is a small coffeeshop which sell only barbequed duck and roast meat. Pretty good.

2) If you walk straight to Jalan Macalister for a couple of mins, you will reach Jalan Baru(new Lane) where there are some good hawker food. Corner shop of New Lane has a good char koay teow, fried fish noodles, chee cheong fun. Close on Wed.

Further down Jalan Macalister, you will come to several coffeeshops.

3) From the intersection, turn right into Jalan Penang and about 5 mins you will reach Jalan Burmah. 1 min or 2 walk you will see some coffeeshops.

Enjoy your holiday.

Behind Trader's is Prangin Mall. Cross the road in front of Prangin Mall. Ask locals for directions to Kimberley Street and Jalan Kuala Kangsar. That area is great for local food!
