A few questions

we were to arrive 1.50pm on a Saturday and Air Asia have cancelled our flight and we now arrive 8.30pm on the Sunday.

So I am guessing an hour from the airport and of course we need to clear customs etc and settle at the hotel. They are picking us up.

So 10.30 ish, is there anywhere close to Noordin Mews hotel to make any essential purchases?

If we cant sleep, are there markets or anything at all open late night?

If we do settle and don't need to change any money until the next day, where is the closest place to Noordin Mews to make that first change so we are ready to set off (with money) for the day?

Also....a Laundry...any good cheap ones near the hotel?

Thanks.

Air Asia unload luggage fast and there are no forms to fill in at immigration, so you should be at Noordin Mews well before 10:30. Have you looked at the hotel website? Many of your questions re things like laundry are on there. First Avenue, Prangin Mall etc are a few minutes walk from you but like all Penang Malls close at 10:00pm so you're going to have to leave it until the next day for essentials. Penang eats early, so if you're really hungry grab a bite at the airport. As for money changers they're everywhere so when you go out you'll spot them. Many are around the bottom of Komtar or if you wander down Carnarvon Street you'll come to rows of them opposite the Kapitan Keling Mosque. You'll probably want to go that way anyway to see the Goddess of Mercy Temple, go into Little India etc.

Ahhh thats a relief about the airport... being fast.

I know they do laundry, but sometimes the hotel is much more expensive so I wanted to have an option as there are 3 of us.

Ok it looks like to bed with a book then lol.

Thank you .

There's Hawker food shoplot near your hotel. I believe the will close around 11pm. Thus, you shouldn't have problem with food. Inside 1st avenue have money changer which is walking distance from your Hotel,

Or you can go to the late night cinema over in First Avenue - Penang likes going to the cinema very late! Take a wrap as it can be cold. For laundry outside the hotel look for a DOBI sign.

For some basic needs, 5 mins walk is seven eleven store( ground floor of Prangin Mall), which is behind Traders hotel.

If you want to venture out on hawkers food, the nearest from yr hotel is New Lane(Lorong Baru) . About 5-7 mins walk from yr hotel and open until 11.30am on Fri and Sun.

There is a laundry shop, next to Sunway hotel in New Lane.
