Turtle Island and Orangutans

I am going to KK on the 16th July for 6 nights. My friend and I wanted to spend 2 days visiting Turtle Island and the Orangutan centre in Sepilok during that week. We thought it is best to organise a tour to do this. Our preferance of dates are the 18th-19th July (in a couple of weeks time).

Can anyone recommend a reputable, reliable and relatively cheap company that we could book through?

Hi there,

We used Dive Down Below they were wornderful and put together a great apckage for us.

If you do a search in the field above all teh forum topics, you'll find heaps of info about them, and other agencies.

Enjoy your trip!

Hi DBTravelling,

Turtle island is fully booked throughout July & August. Well, you could still visit Sandakan for other attraction,i.e. Sepilok for orang utan & Labuk for Proboscis. Kinabatangan River cruise is highly recommended.

Hi DBTravelling,

next recommended place is Lankayan Island, but its fully booked too!

There are sightings of turtles at Pom Pom Island, but it is located far from Sandakan,Semporna area to be precise. A traveller reported to have seen 6 turtles swimming around the jetty in just 1 evening.
