Trekking near KK that isn't so touristy

Anywhere good to go trekking for a few days near KK or Kudat that isn't so package touristy? Somewhere away from all the package type deals is what I'm going for...

Thank you!

Hi princesultan,

if you are looking for some nice trek, go to Tambunan, its about 90mins drive from Kota Kinabalu. Go for the Rafflesia Flower trek where you could even get a chance to see the world's largest flower in bloom.

I have been on the trek twice, love every bit of it.

For a non-touristy sourjourn, opt for staying at a homestay around Penampang. Check out Evelyn Masudal's homestay community at Inobong village within Penampang. www.villagehomestay.net/html/contact_.html
