How safe it is to travel to Kotakinabalu next week?

Hi friends, Is it safe to travel to KK now ....as the typhoon has just escaped Sabah !....weather forecast sites says, the seas are rough there...though we are not very keen in sea sports...

Also what about Kuching and Penang?.....Is it weather wise safe......advices are greatly appreciated .....thanks...

There's a reason why Sabah is known as "the Land Below the Wind". The annual typhoons that hit the Phillipine islands almost always veer north towards Vietnam and miss Sabah completely.

Typhoons are extremely rare in Sabah (the Land Below the Wind).

Sabah & Sarawak is safe from typhoon and during these period we do receives lots of Singaporean tourists due to school holidays.

Whenever there is a typhoon passing by, you'll get a lot of rain, and it can get windy sometime, otherwise relatively safe.

There is nothing to worry about In Kota Kinabalu except the availability of rooms especially during peak periods just like Penang. I have been here for almost a year now and I find there are lots of tourists from China, Taiwan, Korea and Japan here.
