vaccinations for maldives

Hi - can anyone give me a general insight as to whether or not the recommended vaccines are actually necessary?

I live in the UK and this will be my first trip to the maldives and my tour operator has provided me quite an extensive list of "recommended vacinations" that i should get prior to travelling which to be honest, seems rather daunting...

Does anyone actually get any of these before they go...?

Thanks

none required ... a few common sense one are a good idea .. the same that you should have for the UK , pretty much:

making sure that your tetanus shot is up to date and hep A would be just as sensible in the maldives as in london .

As Spammie says - nothing actually required but it's sensible to make sure the usual ones are up to date. We always check our Polio, Tetanus, Typhoid and Hep A are still current.

Having said that, I'd still advise checking with your GP or practice nurse as everyone has different health requirments.

I'm travelling to India next week and had jabs done through work as I'm there on business. I asked at the clinic what their advice was for the Maldives as we're due to go there on the 18th Feb and there are no compulsary vaccinations though they recommend Tetanus and Hep A.
