Manta Season in the South Ari Atoll?

Hello Everyone,

Sorry if this has been asked before... But I was wondering when the Manta Season is in the South Ari Atoll.

Also in Mid-July is there much chance of seeing Whale Sharks (On Snorkeling Trips) and Hammerheads (Diving, ofcourse) at any of the South Ari Dive Sites?

Welcome to the forum.

Whalesharks can be seen pretty much all year round in South Ari but mantas are more seassonal and I believe you have a better chance June/July to October. All resorts situated there will run snorkel and dive trips. You may of course be lucky outside that time frame and equally you may be unlucky within it - there are no guarantees,

For the best chances to see hammerheads (not snorkelling - they are in deep, blue water) you need to be in the Rasdoo atoll further north and you won't be able to access this from South Ari atoll, although OH was extremely lucky ( extremely extremely lucky according to the dive centre) to see one small hammerhead off Fihalhohi in South Male Atoll
