Children at Hilton Rangali

I have just read a review on another forum which made several references to lots of children at the Hilton. My boyfriend and I are booked in for a (hopefully) romantic peaceful week and this therefore worried me! In particular the reviewer said the big infinity pool was "dominated" by children and the night time entertainment in the bar was "children oriented".

Can anyone please tell me when the february half term holidays are as I am worried we will clash with it. Also is there more than one bar ( ie a bar where u can have a quiet drink without entertainment aimed at children?)

Hi Holidaybunney

I've not yet been to the Hilton so can't comment on the amount of children there, but I've not read on here many reports of it being over run by them!

As for half term in February 06 - in my area it is week beginning Monday 13th.

There are quite a few bars and I'm sure you'll be able to find somewhere secluded and quiet.

Hi Holidaybunney

There aren't usually too many children at the resort, although there are plenty around during the big holidays - avoid them and you'll not see many of the anklebiters in either pool, bar or restaurants.

Can't think of ANY 'children-oriented' entertainment in the bar. Casino night, maybe?

There are three bars at the resort, and 7 restaurants, so plenty of places to chill out.

I was there in Feb / Mar this year. Yes there were a few children but they were vastly outnumbered by the adults. There were a few in the infinity pool but only two or three. They certainly didn't bother me............

Just remember that you will see children pretty much wherever you go unless you intend to visit Hedonism III.................in which case your mind will be distracted by other things on view.................

Remember one person's opinon of a 'brat of a kid' is another person's opinon of a child having a little splash in the pool.

I really don't see the issue of taking your 5 daughters to the Hilton, I'm sure there well brought up and well behaved. I've yet to see misbehaving 'kids' in the Maldives as it doesn't attract the 'chav's' as Bob put it.

The point I was making (and this issue has been talked many times before) is don't tarnish all kids with the same brush as mostly in the Maldives they are well behaved and respectful of the enviroment, and that's down to good parenting!!

Proud father of 3 children, all been to the Maldives and well behaved!! (Including the Hilton, 2003!)
