Lolo Hypermarket

Hi everyone

Does anyone know anything about Lolo Hypermarket which is inland of Le Victoria Hotel between Grand Baie and Port Louis? Have seen it on Google Earth but there isn't much on the net about it.

I was wondering if it would be a good place to shop for provisions while staying in the area instead of going into Grand Baie to SuperU.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Regards

Dee

I stayed at Le Meridian a few years ago and I did not notice it then apart from a small mini market next to the Le Meridian.

Maybe its a new hypermarket.

Lolo is on Morcellement St Andre. Although closer to Victoria Hotel than SuperU, there is not that much in it to be honest. It should be noted that they dont sell alcohol or cigarettes.

Thanks so much, Sunsetlover. Will stick with shopping at my old favourite place - SuperU.

Also Jumbo is only around 10 minutes away by car. It has improved a lot lately. Sadly Pridemark which is on the same complex is due to close down in December. The food court is good if you like the occasional fast food.

Super U is still my favourite and bigger than ever now.

Happy shopping.

Sunsetlover its very bad news about Pridemark :(

Agree, Super U is still my favourite, we prefer it much more to Jumbo though the food court is good at Jumbo. Hopefully they will continue to add more food outlets in Super U as its still a work in progress....

Plus they have our beloved Parazone in stock at Super U at the moment so no trips to Triolet's Winners. Will be great when the new Winners at Pereybere opens as its a 3 minute drive from me! Should do good trade!

Choisy was great today and particularly loved the car door/mat episode haha!

Passed Lolos today and its quite a large supermarket but seeing as we had alredy been to Jumbo didn't call in. Will take a look in a day or so.

Also had local promos in the press and prices about the same as the big four - Super U, Jumbo PicknPay and Shoprite.

Seems they are all competing with the opening of PicknPay........

PicknPay is good, used them a lot when we were in SA.

And no Lolo dont sell ciggies or booze!

Sunsetleover Pridemark seemed to have more on offer and less manic than beginning of week DH managed to get a good pair of jeans!

Hi Bronia

Thanks for the feedback. Not much use to go to Lolo's if we can't get rum and Phoenix, I'm afraid.

Glad to hear that PicknPay is opening in Mauritius as it's one of my favourite supermarkets here in Cape Town. Good quality and selection of goods. Where about are they opening?

Hope you are having a fabulous holiday. Is Chelsea okay at home? Have you got a good house sitter looking after her?

Hi Dee,

Chelsea is fine thanks, spoilt rotten as she has two stand in mums!

The first PicknPay opened 29th at Bagatelle Mall of Mauritius and there are plans for another 2. Good news as it has a good selection. We used to shop there in SA.

Two new malls opening, La Croisette at GB and Cascavelle near Flic en Flac so we will be spoilt for choice.

Speaking of which, off to Super U for the daily papers and baguettes!

Sunny and hot!

Cheers,
