Please will someone advise the best RIAD that has a swimming pool.
I don't think any one person has visited every riad in Marrakech that has a pool. Most people who've stayed in a riad have only stayed in one.
When you say swimming pool do you actually want to swim in it? A lot of riads have a plunge pool which is big enough to dip in but not big enough to swim in. Only a few riads have a pool which is big enough to swim in.
Your best way of finding what you are looking for is to look in the Essaouira Hotels tab on the left of the page and whittle things down by setting parameters (eg. pool).
There are several hotels in Essaouira which are very close to the medina, just minutes away from the Bab Sbaa entrance.
The Sofitel quotes around 2000Dh/€200 per night and has an outdoor heated pool; Hotel Des Iles quotes 900Dh/€90 per night and has an outdoor pool, probably not heated though.
Inside the medina is Palais L’Heure Bleue (5*) which has a rooftop pool and the Ocean Vagabond Guest House which has an outdoor pool.
It will be difficult finding a riad or apartment within the medina with a pool as space is so limited.
As mentioned most Riads have ornamental/dipping pools.
However, we stayed at Riad Chergui, which had the most beautiful swimming pool (an actual swimming pool that you could do lengths in) - I really couldn't recommend the Riad more highly, it was beautiful and incredibly good value.
Oops just realised you're looking for a Riad with a pool in Essaouira - we stayed in the Sofitel whilst in Essouira - was incredible. We actually managed to get a great deal via Expedia.
For an excellent pool but not a Riad the Medina Spa hotel on the seafront is by far the best, it's sheltered from the constant winds and luxury beds with beautiful foliage - very laid back.
