young teenagers in Bocas

We are thinking of coming down in Feb for our mid-winter break. Our kids will be ages 12 and 14. We are worried about them getting bored, especially if we stay at a more remote resort such as Tranquilo Bay. We've stayed at family Club Meds and other all-inclusives in Mexico and Jamaica. Any suggestions?

Bocas town is not the best place for children or young teenagers. Staying on Bastimentos or another of the out islands where you have easy access to activities will keep your kids busy. The information you can access here on TripAdvisor about all the places in the archipelago should be helpful in finding the best place for you stay.

Iam living in Bocas and I think there are lot of activities for teenagers. No it is not like an exclusive resort we are still far from that, but..

you can have proof dives, rent a bicycle ,can take surf lessons, rent a kajak, water bike jet ski ,water ski go on snorkel tours watch dolfines visit our new butterfly garden. Panamenias are very loving people and specially here on the island everyybody likes to talk to you and your kids will meet new friends easy. Maybe you should not stay in a place to far away from the main island for your children to be able to explore the little town on their own, which is save and fun specially because this is as well the time of the year we are preparing for Carnival.

Forgot to give you a Hotel idea.

Careening resort is very nice on the island carenero no cars beautiful set in a park close to the carenero marina for you children to watch the boats and catamarans. Then Tropical Suite on the main island with a slide right in the sea lots of water fun.Or Vista Mar a hotel above the water you can just swim from the dock. The rooms though are a bit simple. And Cocomo on the sea a small family style Hotel with kajaks best breakfast in town and a very nice host.
