Leaving Puno

Can anyone help me out. I want to go to Puno and stay there a night to see the floating islands and taquile island the next day. However, I cannot seem to find any buses that will bring me back to Cusco at a reasonable hour. What I found is that they all will arrive Cusco around 4am. Is there anyway to be able to locate a bus once I am back from the floating islands/Taquile island, that is non-stop to Cusco, instead of waiting till later? Thanks.

Puno has a bus station, you can check the schedules of all bus companies there. The problem is that Puno to Cusco is only 7 hours or so, so night busses indeed will arrive extremely early.

There will be taxis at the bus station in Cuzco. Anywhere a fare may be had there will be a driver waiting. When you get to the hotel have the taxis wait until someone answers the door. Hotels have a night porter...who at that hour will be asleep. Give him a moment to wake up.
