We're going there too!

But I don't know any places like that.

I heard that its also fun walking along the streets while the parade is ongoing.

There is a new hotel along Session road where the parade passes, City Center Hotel. If they are not yet fully book and you can reserve a room with the Session road view, then maybe you can have a good view. The old hotel is Prime Hotel with a veranda but at the other lane of Session Road but still you can have a nice view. But still best view is along the side walk of session road but be sure to be there at least 6am or earlier to grab a nice spot, as it will be so tight later with other spectators. Happy Viewing!

@ Magette,

While there are a few (very few) hotels along sessions road where some rooms have a view of the parade (their terraces are out of bounds), the best place, really, is along the road.

It is well organised (remember to bring a mat / something to spread on the floor) and you will find the pavements on both sides lined with people sitting to watch the parade. Also, remember to reach early - people start to sit between 5 and 6 am.

In that I agree with Baguio transport

@ Ivan,

we are not allowed to walk with the parade - that would just obstruct them. And if you walk behind the parade, you don't get to see anything!

@YLOO

Ah, too bad, I thought walking while the parade is ongoing would be fine.

But wow, 5 AM and people are already starting to line up, maybe I'll start by 4 to find a good spot. That time must be VERRRRY cold though.

@Magette

Btw, some of the hotels are refusing to book reservations now. We would be just walking in and pray that there would be some place that will accomodate us.

All the best. One (usually bad, but good during Panagbenga! He he!) thing in Baguio is that there are SO MANY transient houses and hotels to stay at (of various standards!) that you will ALWAYS get SOME place to stay - even walk in!

No! It surprisingly does not feel so cold - maybe because of the huge crowds coming to see the parade! Thank god.. .else one would have to go to pee so often! You might think you must be among the few people - but once you reach Sessions road, you will see such big crowds that you will thank your stars you woke up so early - else you would not have got this good spot to sit! After that - you must just play with your fingers waiting for the parade to start!

Last 2013 we were so lucky to stay in Baguio Country Club... they also gave VIP Passes to all guests & we got a good view of everything in the Parade Grounds during the Opening Ceremony. The General Manager made sure our stay in Baguio was worth every minute & cent.

Though expect traffic, it's always like that in any part of the Philippines, so just live with it & enjoy walking...

We also tried to go on our own & hailed taxis... however, since there are a lot of tourists, it was so hard to get one, so lesson learnt - make sure you have transportation going back to the hotel.

Session Road & Harrison Street is full of stores & restaurants for everyone! So just like in other countries, be careful w/ your bags.

Panagbenga is one unique festival that should be experienced by all & this time we want to see the Closing Ceremony.
