I would recommend the Makati Shangri-La for the reasons you stated above as well as it's proximity to numerous shopping, dining and entertainment options.

Greetings people,

How is the night life in Makati? pups, bars, night clubs, or shows?

Where are the places to mingle with locals and make new 'friends'?

Where are the best spa/massage places in Makati?

There are plenty of nightlife activity to choose from. Just go to the Greenbelt area and you can find a lot of activities. Don't forget to check the smaller venues away from the Greenbelt area as well. There's just too much to choose from.

Right across Shangri-La Makati is Glorietta Mall. On the 3rd floor there are 2 restaurant/bars -- TGIFridays and Hard Rock Cafe which has bands on most nights. Just another few meters away is Greenbelt complex which has a lot more bars, pubs, restaurants and high-end shopping. Many tourists and expats enjoy Havana (Ground floor, Greenbelt 3) for drinks and meeting people.
