Night Visit Cebu City

Hi all,

After my itinerary at bohol, I will arrive Cebu Pier at 7:30.

Before I get back to my resort (in Mactan Island), i would like to have a visit on Cebu city and having dinner there.

Any suggestion at that time?

For dinner I would suggest a place called "The Village" it is near the casino. Taxi drivers know it.

There is a great blues bar across the road from the Castle Peak Hotel - good food, music and beers.

You can visit the Canyoen Yakiniku for Japanese foods, the Ching Palace for Chinese & Seafoods, the famous Golden Courie for Native/Philippine foods, also the Laguna Cafe besides Ayala Center. Enjoy.

The Village is a good idea -- nice Italian Pizza at Il Sole, good coffee & dessert at Eastwest, possibility of drinks and a show at the Courtyard.

But what kind of dinner / night time entertainment EXACTLY did you have in mind? You'd be surprised that Cebu might have what you're looking for...

For something particularly CEBU, I suggest a trip up the hills as a good contrast to your beach stay:

If you have taxi fare to spare, head for the Cebu Top -- it's (one of) the highest point in the city and offers a great view. You can get a beer and barbecue there for starters and head back to LA TEGOLA just at the foot of the hill for mediocre Italian (with view anyway) or CHATEAU de BUSAY further down for a decent dinner (with less view)**.

If you'd rather not hire a cab (because the options above will require you to have a waiting driver), Try Mr. A (the food is not great but the view will more than make up for it). They can ring a cab for you after you're done (but make sure to arrange this before letting your cabbie leave).

** anyone in here know if Swiss Chalet still operates -- where exactly is the access road? Anyone have their phone number?

I would rather suggest you'd go to BANILAD TOWN CENTER. Its the newest center where you could choose variety of restuarants and coffee shops and even restobars. It is found at the banilad area and just a taxi away you could get to this place.

for first suggestion, i would suggest you try FORMO, its also a restobar. The food is great from soup to main dish. If you crave for pizza, try YELLOWCAB, its one of the best pizza in cbeu, and try their charlie chan noodle and even their chicken.

Hope you enjoy your stay in cebu

Check out the Cadillac Cafe on Mactan Island.

This place has great food and on Friday and Saturday nites their disco is packed! I saw a band there called Mc Rybees, and they did some reggae that was dynamite. If you get a chance to see that band, don't miss it. They have rooms for rent there, but even though I have tried many times to rent one, they are always fully booked. The rooms are only 35 U.S. bucks a night and have every amenity you could want, dvd, movies, fridge, aircon, hot and cold water, etc, but they are hard to get. This place definitely is the place to go for nightlife on the weekends.
