AFL used to fly to Shannon, but not anymore. You need to have your vodka shots up to date, but as you are Irish you are exempt. Enjoy your trip!

You need a tourist visa (the supporting documents should be provided by your hotel or an online 'visa support' service) unless you are going to stay at a friends' place, in which case you can apply for a 'private' visa and your friends should provide the invitation. There is a lot of information concerning visas in this forum, just use 'search' feature.

From Shannon, Ryan Air do a fare to Wroclaw where you can pick up a connection (Aeroflot?LOT?).

BA do a CodeShare with AerLingus via London but a hefty price.

Air Baltic do a return fare London to Moscow quite frequently, via Riga. Price from 220 Euro.

Also, Lufthansa fly from Dublin to Moscow (Domodedovo) via Frankfurt (1 to 3 hr stopover) USD 580 ie 456 EURO.

BUT, Lufthansa fly from Dublin to Frankfurt, connection with Siberia Airlines (S7) to Moscow (Domodedovo). I found this on the Siberian Airlines web site 8492 rubles, ie 283 EURO. Only 3 to 4 hours at Frankfurt. Must be the best.

Lufthansa is stated as an interline partner.

Now I’ll go back to my job search- haha

Direct flight with S7

BMi via Heathrow

Air france via Paris

KLM via Amsterdam can all be booked on airlines web sites too.

They don't go every day though and make sure that you have your visa before booking flight.

I believe (but dont count on info 100%) that To appy for visa fill out form on http://www.ireland.mid.ru/ with all details for tourist visa.

Print it out sign it and go to embassy with printed document that has been signed, your passport , photo and post office money order for fee(only accept these no cheques or cash). Fee for visa type is on web site. They will take all this and give you receipt for payment/passport.And tell you to come back in x days(x varies) to collect visa.

Hope this helps
