trip to moscow

We are planning a trip to Moscow later this year but find the language barrier daunting so am considering a guided tour holiday. Can anyone recommend a tour company?

To help us better answer, are you looking for someone to handle all aspects, help with visas, pick up at airport, do everything for you, or, are you more interested in more help getting around, seeing sights once you are there?

Also, how long of a trip, and is this Moscow only? If the latter, you may want to consider a slight compromise to save some money...that being, signing up with a local guide for a day or so to get some basic grounding, then do some sightseeing on your own.

In general, suggest you start with a query right here on the Moscow forum to see many comments/reviews done for both local guides as well as likely some tour companies...

Also, many folks have same language status, but have done OK with a bit of research first, and maybe just joining some English-language tours once there to supplement.

please tell me when you're going to Moscow, for how long, and what you are going to see in Russia. Maybe I can help with a local guide, travel, language and other.

We decided to go with a guided tour. We booked a Globus tour that starts in St Petersburg and finishes in Moscow. We didn't have the time to waste so this seemed to be the best option for us and also the language was an issue for us too.

We are doing a weekend break to Moscow in Feb. we arrive at 21.30. We are very concerned due to the late arriving time that it will be difficult to get into the city. Has anyone any experience of getting taxi to hotel holiday inn soloniki?

Time of day (late) is your friend - most trafific over and/or going other direction. I wold suggest reading Top Questions for other options as well...cabs at airport taxi stand while reliable, safe, etc, cost a wee bit more than using a transfer service...

Actually, 21:30 is not too late in Moscow. Everything is open, taxis and metro is well running. 2 AM is late in Moscow...
