Visiting Synagogues in Moscow and St. Petersburg

My husband and I will be in Russia in August.

We would like to visit these synagogues. Has anyone done this on their own or can you recommend a tour.

Also any other good Russia tips. Thanks. b

There is no problem in visiting St.Petersburg Grand Choral Synagogue on your own – once you come in there is a table with a very nice girl (so-called ‘tourist office’). She will tell you the whole story and show you around for free. The Synagogue is located in downtown – you can easily walk there or take a cab. By the way right next door you can have a quick lunch in well-known pastry shop ‘Stolle’.

Have a nice trip!

There is also a Kosher restaurant at the Synagogue. Evening services at 9:15pm
