shopping for grandkids

we've made it a practice to bring back t-shirts and coins for the gks wherever we go....any suggestions where we would find shirts that russian children would wear?

believe it or not but rus.kids would wear ANY T-shirts. Most of the time the T-shirts wouldn't have russian words written on them (unless it's some funny and sometimes rude phrases or rus. cartoon character like Cheburashka). Any European brand or "no-name-made-in-china" that's what most of the kids (and adults) wear. To buy it check out kids department at, for inst., Gostiny Dvor shopping center. Don't be surprised at high prices - clothes/shoes/etc for kids are well overpriced in Russia :( unless you'd go to cheap markets like Apraksin dvor or smth like that but I wouldn't recommend going there...

You'll find kid-size T-shirts with St.Petersburg symbols/landmarks at any souvenir place - plenty of them along Nevsky prospekt, in understreet pedestrian crossing Nevsky/Sadovaya, souvenir depts at Gostiny dvor shopping center and Passage shopping center etc.
