Touring St. Petersburg on Monday's

I have only four days in St. Petersburg (Friday through Monday). I have heard that many tourist attractions will be closed every Monday. Is this true? Are there attractions that will be open on Monday -- we will be there the first weekend in November. I believe there is some kind of a state holiday that weekend. Any info would be appreciated.

Also, will be traveling with children and would like recommendations for good restaurants serving American food that are not "fast food" joints.

Thanks!

Monday is the day off for the Hermirage and Peterghof - other places (like Russan Museum, Catherine's palace, Paul's palace, all cathedrals and others are open)

American cuisine restaurant:

Monatna - Kirochnaya str., 20 - "classcal" american food, friendly service

4th of November is our new National Holiday.

Monday is is bad for museums that have the Hermitage as its administrative headquarters but such as Peterhof and the various Hermitage facilities, So that means planning other activities on Monday, at least 200 museums are still open on that day.

American food is in short supply in St Petersburg, The only real American cafe/restaurant is City Bar at 20 Furshadskaya ul., directly across the street from the US Consulate. Good ribs, chili and the best hand ground burgers in Russia, also cheap. Montana is a hokey place screening the same colorized 1950s western for the last year. They say it is a steak house but there is no such thing in Russia. It is better to choose Italian, French, Russian, or Georgian food here. Even Japanese is better represented here than American food unless you consider McDonalds American food. There are 40 McD's in St Petersburg
