20 hour layover in Guangzhou - any adivce

I will be flyign from hanoi to Tokyo in march and i have an overnight 20 hour layover in Guangzhou. is there anythign i can do in that amount of time or am i just stuck at the airport all day?

1- 24 hours no visa required.

2- China Southern provides free hotel at airport.

3- Read this topic, recent reports by other passengers who did the same in same airport more specifically from Post No.19 and to current. Once you read, you'll understand fully.

Top right corner of this website shows you all the major attractions.

Spend an hour to read the GZ forum posts, you learn key data fast.

Subway under terminal goes to downtown GZ, 45 minutes.
