I wrote on another post, as we did passed by and took a good look.

Hotel is spanking new, nice architecture and enclosed with it's own compound. The only hotel that looks 4-5 stars and worth staying for the ambience. taxis to downtown is about 10mins ride.

One side of hotel faces a river( should be refreshing to wake up to) and main entrance faces some vacant land.

Not a neighbourhood where you can walk around. Surrounding has nothing of interest, a cluster of small homes/biz across the road and it's more of a neighbourhood that is yet to be developed.

5 mins taxi is a wholesale commodity center and a couple more mins wiil be the Flower market which we managed to get our camera busy.

Nothing exciting , unless you are doing photo shoots on local life.

A small wholesale area made up of a cluster of shophouses and an alley which houses a market.

We didnt spend timein the commodity center, as flower market has a richer local scene.

Fronting the main road of Flower market will be peddlars selling puppies, fruits, clothes etc. A couple of lanes inside will be more on small nurseries(plants). Something similar to the morning market in HK Mongkok/Ya Ma tei?

Noticed that only a handful travellers who were more or less doing photography. We spent about 30 mins there.

After Shangrila, the main road continue into the commodity center, then Flower market. The whole ride is 5-10 mins.
