Bus from Shugakuin to Kinkakuji

Hi, I'm looking at how to get from Shugakuin to the Kinkakuji temple and have found a bus route map but am not sure that I understand it correctly.

It looks like there's a No. 8 bus (with a symbol in front of the 8) that runs from near Shugakuin station to an interchange at Senbon Kitaoji, and then a No. 12 or 59 bus from the interchange to Kinkakuji.

Can anyone confirm this? Also, is the stop to get off for Kinkakuji Temple well signposted?

59 is correct. And 12 will then get you from the temple to Nijo castle if so inclined.

As for sign-posting, yes, there is some, but it can be hard to see from the bus. The stop, though, is pretty obvious, many others will be getting off, and, as I recall, it is on something of a bend in the street, if that helps.

You got the bus numbers right.

There are two bus stops near Shugakuin Station; Shigakuin-Rikyu-michi on Shirakawa Street and Shugakuin-michi on the route 367. Bus number 8 stops at the latter.

The bus stop you get off is called Kinkakuji-michi. There should be anouncment in English. As stated in the previous post, many people get off, so it's pretty obvious.
