Easter in Kyoto

Hello,

I'm currently planning my 2nd trip to Japan, which will take place around Easter 2013. We'll spend 6 nights in Kyoto, and our stay will include Easter day and Easter Monday (31st March and 1st April 2013).

Am I correct in assuming that those days will be like any other Sunday and Monday, in Japan, so monuments, sights, restaurants, etc. will be open according to their ordinary schedule?

Thanks in advance

Yes you are right. Easter is not a holiday in Japan. You can see pumpkin goods recently here, though.

99% of Japanese people don't observe Easter, so you're correct. Many museums are closed on Mondays.
