how to get to furama bukit bintang?

Hi everyone,

We arrive on aug 9 at 8pm via singaporeairlines. Can somebody help me with the best way to go to our hotel - furama bukit bintang? There will be 4 adults and 2 big luggages.

After hotel check-in, what do you suggest we can do after? We would want to sort of start our exploration of KL right away.

Thanks so much.

Hi

The Furama Bukit Bintang is not really on Bukit Bintang, and some distance away, the map on their website gives pretty good location marker www.furama.com/bukitbintang/Location/Map

The best way is really a personal thing based on cost vs times. Taxi being the quickest, easiest and most expensive, whilst the bus is slow but cheap and will involve also getting another train / bus or taxi; the train works about about the same as a taxi.

As questions similar to yours get asked just about daily we have set up some Top Questions FAQs in the right panel part of this screen. Everyone forgets or misses the Top or Frequently Asked Questions/FAQs [especially if using smart phones], which are packed with lots of really great information about lots of really useful information!! If you are accessing TA via the smart phone app’ you won’t see the FAQs in the normal app view on your phone, so suggest that you view the app it as full site mode / desk top view; or just use a laptop or pc to enjoy the information that has been collected. A taxi is door to door and will take about 40-60 minutes dependant on the traffic. The TAXI counter is clearly marked in the arrivals hall at both KLIA and LCCT terminals at KUL. Walk up to the assistants, if there is a queue it will be fast moving. Tell the assistant where you want to go [hotel] and the type of taxi [budget or premier, or minivan]. They will tell you how much. Pay your fee by cash or card - With 4 adults with 2 large pieces of luggage you are likely to need a family van taxi which will cost 200myr.

The assistant will give you a receipt and a voucher. The voucher has a door number on it. Got out of that door. As you come out of the door a person will ask for your voucher as you walk out the door, ask where you are going and call the next taxi over. Put your stuff and yourself into the taxi, confirm with the taxi driver where you are going, and off you go to your hotel! There are no additional costs only than a tip which is up to you. Do not get into a non-voucher taxi or use touts, they will rip you off, they are not licensed and do not have adequate taxi insurance. Prebooked cars or hotel cars will cost considerably more. There are many companies operating car services that will be a bit more expensive than the taxi.

The bus costs around 9myr per person plus additional taxi fare of around 30myr, the train costs 35myr per person plus additional taxi fare of around 30myr.

Arriving on a flight at 8pm, you realisticly won't be at your hotel until 10pm, so there is not much you can do. All the malls and most shops will be closed, there will be a few bars and restaurants open, Jalan Alor will still be serving food. So you probably won't be starting your exploration of KL right away as you expected.

Thank you travelling mitch for this helpful info. Looks like going by train/taxi and taxi are more or less the same, which would be faster given the time of travel?

With your luggages you should use taxi even after you take a train ride you still need a taxi to the hotel. Taxi fare is rm60 using budget taxi, go to the aitport counter to purchase budget taxi coupon, primier taxi is bigger but much more expensive.

With 4 people and 2 big luggage you wont fit in a budget taxi. You will need a premier taxi which will cost you about RM 102 or thereabouts.

Still cheaper than the train which at RM35 per person will cost you RM140 and you still need to find a taxi to your hotel at kl sentral where the train deposits you.
