What can i do to make it seamless?

Answer : book a later onward flight might make it less stressful. Nothing can make it seamless, as you just don't know what life will throw at you when at an airport.

Ok, the maths

Arriving at 06:10 by the time you get off the plane, clear immigration and collect your bags it will be around 07:00 give or take a few minutes.

You then need to get from LCCT to KLIA terminal. This takes a minimum of 30mins, longer if you go for the bus.

So you arrive at KLIA around 07:30. You then need to check in before the check in desks close - around 08;30.

So if all goes well you only have an hour safety margin.

What if your incoming flight is late? What if there are extended delays at immigration? What if one of your bags goes missing?

The bottom line is that you will miss your flight as you don't have enough time.

Hi,

guess MH193 is full, then it will be seamless, with MH715 to DPS,as your luggage is also checked thru to DPS from BLR.

If one looks at stats, for period Nov15 to Jan 15, AirAsia on time performance is rather poor at 64% out of 34 flights operated; but then again, if you take recent flights, they had in fact arrived 10 mins ahead of STA.

Change in plans in order to make it

1 - travelling without Check - in baggage

2 - Transfer service will be ready for pickup from LCCT and drop to KLIA ?

Now possible ?

Hi,

well, to sound positive - these few days, AK flights from Bangalore and even MH are arriving 10-15mins ahead of STA.

E.g. the flight that departed from BLR on 22/01/14, touched down in LCCT at 0551hrs yesterday.

With no checked luggage, it is now only immigration queue to factor, then to quickly get the taxi voucher for taxi transfer to KLIA from LCCT--usually lesser queue for premier category and shorter walk from international arrival hall for premier category taxi bay- outside Old Town Kopitiam, compared to budget, which is closer at the other end for domestic arrival(Coffee Bean)..

Well, if you can modify and still available, get hot seat on your AirAsia flight,so you are towards front of plane with first few to alight, and hopefully is not a too long walk to terminal building

HI

With no checked in bags you have saved around 20mins. I would still get a taxi, as that is a guaranteed 30mins transfer.

This will now give you a 90mins safety window.

Only you can decide if that is enough of gamble now!

Thanks all of you.

Success!!!!!

- Took no hand luggage - we stuffed all the baggage into one suitcase and i gave it to my wife who was travellign in Malaysia Airlines from BLR to DPS :)

- Arrived 15 mins early at LCCT - went directly to immigration - out of airport in 10 mins - took a cab for 30 RM and reached KLIA in 15 mins. Collected boarding pass(web-checkin'ed) and reached gate 1 hr 20 mins before departure :)

But you all were right - i should have given myself 4.5 - 5 hrs for a peaceful journey instead of fretting till the last minute :) Two days already in Bali and i am enjoynig it ! :)

Reached the gate 1 hr 20 mins bfore departure, meaning safety margin was only about 35 mins..

I guess having no check in luggage and airasia arriving 15 mins early saved the day
