You can walk to Chinatown from Bkt Bintang, or take the free bus.

Unless someone has found the 5th dimension, you cannot be close to everything at the same time. When you are close to one you cannot be close to something else that is not in the same location.

For shopping in general, Bukit Bintang is the place to stay, with about 8 malls to suit every type of shopper.

Of course there is Chinatown which is not in Bukit Bintang. That holds the Petaling Street Street-market that is basically meant for tourist buying overpriced knockoffs. That can be reached via a short (but expensively negotiated) taxi ride from Bukit Bintang. Chinatown is approx a 30min walk from Bukit Bintang if that gives you an idea of the distance.

Happy hotel hunting.

Thanks for the negativity!!!!

I am simply asking a question about a place I have never been. Isnt this what trip advisor is for???

I have never been to KL hence my question. I dont know distances from one place to another. I am asking best place to stay thats close to cheap shopping but close enough to visit the tourist destinations.

Over priced malls etc. Why comment of you are so negative and have nothing nice to say??? Why???

Hello from another Auusie, who trvaels to K/L, in fact back ther in October.

So, I always stay at The royal Chulan Hotel- well located to Bintang Walk and other attractions and very reasonably priced.

You will apay around aud$100 per night for a lovely large room, large bathroom and complimentary breakfast second to none!.

Have a look on line and see what you think?.

Regards.
