Trip to Maldives

Hi Guys,

I am planning a last minute trip to the Maldives with my wife in late Jan.

Need a bit of help with the wide range options with islands etc.

Its just the 2 of us and we planning for a 5 day visit or so.

Our budget is about $4K to $6K inclusive of flights etc. We would like a water villa.

I would prefer a seaplane transport just for the experience.

I am not sure about going full board or all inclusive. Open to recommendations on that.

We definitely want to go snorkeling and would like to try scuba diving as well. If there are other water sports, it would be a bonus.

any help, suggestions with the resort options would be greatly appreciated.

Best regards,

J

J, welcome to the forum.

As you are booking so late, it would be wise to contact a good agent who can help you with availability. You have a reasonable budget despite being high season so you should find something but it's a little pointless us recommending somewhere that you then find is fully booked.

Purely Maldives come well recommended on here with international clients as do others and they can also help with flights as well.

Suggest you contact somebody ASAP.

Hi J

The first thing to say is that availability may well be limited as this is peak season so may well be what you can get rather what you want. With regard to diving if you don't already have a diving cert you would be limited to taster dives in the lagoon and you won't be there long enough to get certified although you could do this in Aus prior to going

Hi j2481.

here's another couple of agents who are very good and specialise in the maldives, Simply Maldives and Stylish Resorts, have used them both and are excellent.

Hi J - you are going to be paying a lot for flights booking late and for Jan. I recon at least $3K. That leaves very little for the Maldives considering a seaplane is going to cost you about another $1K. So your actual budget for accommodation is going to be about $2K or $400 per night. I don't honestly think you are going to get a water villa for that price. Then you have f and b and activities.

Good luck

By the way we have also used Stylish resorts and highly recommend them.
